What you provide:
1.) You will need to register your domain name(s)
with a registrar (such as godaddy.com). NVP is not a domain name
registrar nor do we have any wish to become one. We
could be a reseller but you can save money by going
direct to a registrar yourself. If you have no idea
what any of this means, we would be happy to take care
of registering your domain name(s) for you for a small
fee plus the actual annual cost of the domain name
registration(s).
2.) If you do not purchase DNS service with your domain
name registration, you will need to find a DNS provider.
NVP will provide DNS service for you for an additional
monthly fee. Otherwise, please contact NVP technical
support for the IP address that your domains should point
to. Again, we are willing to help the non-tech savvy of you
with assistance or to take care of the nitty-gritty for
you.
3.) We are not a web design team. We know designers and
would be happy to give you a referral, but the construction
and maintenance of the content of your site is up to you.
We can be consulted to install an open source
content-management system (drupal is our favorite) that will allow
you to maintain your own website, but that is a
separate consulting service fee. Contact us for
details.
What we provide:
We provide the server space, bandwidth, and any
other features you have requested. We will provide you with
as much technical support as you need, as long as the realm
of support is within our purview. E.g. we will help you
with your login and password but we will not teach you how
to use your FTP client to upload your website(s). IT consulting is available
separate item from the webhosting package.
You will be notified of any planned system outages or
maintenance ahead of time. Unexpected problems do occur.
Although we do our best to minimize the chances of this
happening, we will respond as quickly as possible to any
unplanned issues. To date we have not had any unplanned
network connectivity outages nor any hardware problems. Our
servers are specifically designed with power and data
redundancy and online repair capabilities.
We reserve the right to refuse service to any entity. As
our client group is small and select you will need to
describe in detail your planned website, anticipated
traffic needs, and server hardware resource demands before
signing up with us, if known. Our hardware is more than
capable of handling the vast majority of websites but we
must evaluate exceptional circumstances on a
case-by-case-basis and will terminate any clients who
disrupt the functionality of our machine or compromise the
performance of other hosted websites. Also if your content
is offensive or illegal we reserve the right to terminate
your service without warning. We reserve the right to take
legal action against you in such cases where deemed
appropriate. Hopefully the screening process will lead to
that never becoming an issue.
You can terminate your service at any time. There are no
long-term contracts or commitments. We do not pro-rate our
billing: invoicing and payment is done in whole-month
segments only. Invoices will be due upon receipt and we
will suspend any account greater than 60 days overdue in
payment. Nonpayment also subjects your account to deletion.

therefore VISA, MASTERCARD, and other credit cards) to
